Monday 21st March Madis Nurms had meetings in the costume workshops of Kaunas State Musical Theatre, Lithuania and Pärnu Theatre Endla, Estonia.
The main subject of these meetings was to discuss different finishing techniques of the costumes – painting and toning possibilities. Since materials used in this production are somewhat unusual, including rubber and aluminum details, the subject requires extra attention. The Estonian press has been very interested in the preparations and there have been several articles on the subject. You can read some of them here or here.
Costumes are made for the next opera production of Pärnu International Opera Music Festival PromFest - “Attila” by G.Verdi. The premiere of the opera is June 4th, 2011. It is a cooperation project between Pärnu Endla Theatre, PromFest and Kaunas State Music Theatre. In addition to the costumes, also the first modules of the set design are now finished and wait for the next stage of preparations.
