"Most striking was the rich imagination and exuberant energy. Every potential weakness was cleverly transformed into a strength: instead of technically demanding jumps, lifts and virtuosic solos, we were treated to witty movement patterns, ingenious use of the limited stage space and bubbling ensemble scenes that, in keeping with the plot and the character of the music, scurried, rushed or swept across the stage, supported by a colorful explosion of costumes.
What a charming duality was created by the reflective flooring, how sincerely the gestures carried emotion, how captivatingly the orchestra played!
